Hey There
Welcome to Wholly Home with the Kats — where we remember how to come home to ourselves, our purpose, and our people.
This space was born from the middle—not the mountaintop, not the rock bottom, but the quiet, messy, beautiful middle of motherhood, marriage, womanhood, and healing. I’m not here to teach from a pedestal. I’m here walking beside you—learning, unlearning, and rebuilding what it means to live whole.
Hi, I’m Makaila the wife, mom, homebody, and wildflower soul in the thick of re-learning what it means to live fully awake to the life God placed in my hands. I created Wholly Home as a slow, sacred corner of the internet to share what it looks like to come home, to my body, to my mind, to my family, and to my faith.

This is not a place for perfect aesthetics or curated performance. It’s a place for honest rhythms, real-life homemaking, tender transformation, and choosing to show up with your whole self even when the floors are covered in toys and your brain is a little fried.

If you’ve ever whispered “There has to be more than this,” you’re in the right place. You’re not alone. And you’re not behind.

My Values
These are the guiding truths I return to over and over—through every blog post, coaching session, and conversation:
-
Home is holy. Not because it’s spotless, but because it’s where love is practiced.
-
Healing starts within. Before I change the world, I tend to my inner one.
-
Presence > performance. I choose connection over perfection every time.
-
Marriage and motherhood are sacred. I will not belittle them for laughs or clout.
-
Quiet seasons matter. Growth doesn’t always have to be loud to be real.
-
My faith is real, not performative. No spiritual mask, just honest pursuit.
-
Being a stay-at-home mom doesn’t mean disappearing. It’s a launchpad, not a lid.
-
I can be tender and fiery. I am allowed to be all of me.
Why I Started Wholly Home
Because I hit my breaking point.
Because postpartum cracked me wide open.
Because I wanted to be a good mom, but I didn’t even know who I was anymore.
Because marriage got hard.
Because I kept seeing influencers sell solutions that didn’t speak to the real problem: women are craving soul-level wholeness.
This blog is my rebellion against burnout, shallow living, and pretending everything is okay when it’s not. It’s also my celebration of what can be when you begin to rebuild—with honesty, intention, and a little Holy Spirit fire.
